Its sacred nature and geographical location were central to the Latter-day Saint doctrine of gathering. The Church's removal to the Great Basin region was seen as the fulfillment of Isaiah's prophecy that the House of the Lord would be "established in the tops of the mountains." This edition keeps alive the memory of the Temple as it stood prior to this most recent major renovation that began in 2020. The old-school purists will be able to capture and treasure the ageless beauty and time-honored traditions, symbols, designs, and motifs of the original build.

ORIGINAL LIST PRICE IN 1983: $59.95!! (Today, that equals $178.50!) Keep in mind, that these books are collector's items and in short supply. The author has indicated that she will not allow me to sell the book at a price any higher than the original list price.  So it is truly a bargain that increases with inflationary passing day.  My supply of these is quite limited at this stage. (Less than 60 copies remain in my collection.)

Contains 208 pages with over 200 color and archival photographs, detailing the history, planning, and symbolism with full views of every room of the interior, all spot-varnished for added luster and printed on acid-free paper for the preservation of the book and its contents.

Reproductions from original glass plates taken by C.R. Savage, circa 1911. These photos, stored in the Church Archives for more than 80 years, were published in their entire sequence for the first time in this book, including rare photographs of the Holy of Holies.

A milestone in publishing, The Salt Lake Temple: A Monument To A People was the first comprehensive and authoritative text about the Salt Lake Temple.

About the Author

C. Nina Cutrubus was born in 1934 and is still living today. Her copyright attorney, Kay Cornaby said, "The basis of Nina's success lies in two directions. First, she has the rare combination of artistic ability and an innate business sense. Second, Nina is scrupulously honest. Her forthrightness and integrity are qualities that people value very highly in her."

"Of course, Nina is very sharp, intelligent, and perceptive, other reasons for her success. More importantly, she is unique in her ability to understand, start and then finish a project by herself. Nina plowed new ground when she put together the collegiate sports package. That approach and the success of that format are due to her creative ability and business know-how. The historical publication (The Salt Lake Temple) was also the first in its field. This was a different concept and approach, but it exemplifies her wide range of talents." (Kay Cornaby)
