About the book
James Olsen family history book—a private publication.
We do not carry stock, but we can try to have it POD printed if you are willing to wait. Our past printer that used to do these books has gone out of business and our new POD printer does not like the odd paper sizes found in the PDF. We may be able to get it printed if the buyer is willing to be patient and work with us.
Description of the book:
The individual histories of Christen Jensen Olsen and his descendants through his son James reveal a family marked by industry, integrity, and devotion to the restored Church. On one occasion some years ago the shop teacher at South Cache High School on observing the work of some of the Olsen boys from College Ward said, "I can see that somewhere along the line there has been an ancestor in the Olsen Family who believed in doing things right."
The brief histories contained in the following pages have been in large part written by family members of the James Olsen family or members of their immediate families.
Sincere appreciation is here given to family representatives who have worked so faithfully as a committee in assembling material for the book and obtaining subscriptions prior to printing. Special mention is made of three committee members who have passed away since the project was begun. They are Newell J. Olsen, Veda 0. Davis, and Pearl Olsen. A fourth member, Ernest Olsen, found it necessary to turn his responsibility over to his sister Florence because of health problems.
As the project draws to a close the working committee consists of Wallace Olsen, V. Allen Olsen, Earl A. Hansen, E. Floyd Olsen, Florence 0. Parker, Violet 0. Scott, Velma 0. Janes, Ivey 0. Hansen, Rachel 0. Spillman. The editing committee consists of V. Allen Olsen, Earl Hansen, Florence Parker, and Floyd Olsen. Elva P. Pope has also been very helpful in gathering and forwarding orders for books.
It is sincerely hoped that this book will be an inspiration to descendants everywhere to know better our noble ancestors and emulate the great example they set for us in pioneering and building the communities and Church in this great western country.
V. Allen Olsen, Committee Chairman
