About the book
This edition includes everything in the first edition plus many new insights, discoveries, and updates. It also includes several hours of unaired author interviews with the Paul Brothers on the Stick of Joseph podcast, which can only be accessed via QR codes inside the book.
The Heartland model will be the de facto geography on which your children and grandchildren will be raised. Just as many in the preceding generations were taught about Meso-America and the Mayans, your children will be taught about the Hopewell and Adena in North America.
When Moroni first visited Joseph Smith near Palmyra, New York, he “gave a general account of the promises made to the fathers, and also gave a history of the aborigines of this country... he said this history was written and deposited not far from that place, and that it was Joseph Smith's privilege, if obedient to the commandments of the Lord, to obtain and translate the same by the means of the Urim and Thummim, which were deposited for that purpose with the record.”
When it comes to the origin and setting of the Book of Mormon, many theories have been circulated. During this process, some of the early teachings have been lost or forgotten.
In General Conference 1929, Apostle James E. Talmage said, “the Book of Mormon does not give us precise and definite information whereby we can locate those places with certainty. I encourage and recommend all possible investigation comparison and research in this matter.”
Moroni's America, second edition, offers new perspectives on the origin and setting of the Book of Mormon. Thanks to the impressive work of the Joseph Smith Papers and new scientific evidence, we can more clearly see how the teachings of the prophets about the origin and setting of the Book of Mormon were correct after all.
As Joseph Smith wrote, this evidence offers “proof of its divine authenticity,” which fortifies faith in the Book of Mormon, convincing people that Jesus is the Christ and leading them to the covenant path.
